Clementine Churchill Hospital in London has a vacancy for a Senior Cardiac Physiologist (Bank) to join their team of staff within the Cardiology Department.
Working on an “as and when required” basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.
It is essential that applicants have the following:
· BSC/ Cardiology degree
· ASCT, BTEC/HTEC, HNC, certificates or equivalent will be considered depending on experience.
· RCCP and/or HCPC registration
· Technical skills to perform complex procedures.
· Clinical knowledge to enable correct choice of the battery of tests.
· Able to recognise contra-indications and abnormalities during test procedures, and identify the actions to be taken.
· Able to produce relevant and accurate results / reports.
Duties of this role include:
· To provide both adult and paediatric (>3 years old) diagnostic cardiology service.
· To work alongside Cardiology consultants, efficiently running the Cardiology clinics and ensuring the most positive patient and consultant experience and feedback
· To work without supervision, whilst liaising with Cardiologist consultants, GPs and their secretaries, Healthcare Assistants and members of administrative team.
· Daily duties will also include administration, patient management, and monitoring equipment status.
· To perform the department’s range of Cardiology investigations to a standard consistent with that set by the department, best practice guidelines, and the national governing bodies (BSC, RCCP).
· To be technically proficient, including performing first-line equipment checks/maintenance / servicing.
· To understand and conform to the department and hospital Health and Safety policies
· To provide a caring and understanding approach to patients and to be aware of their needs and limitations.
· To conform to the department’s administrative and registration procedures, keeping an accurate record of patient’s appointments, tests performed, copies of results where appropriate etc.
· To ensure that investigations are performed with the minimum of risk to patients.
· To maintain a co-operative team approach to all tasks, and ensuring that good inter-departmental relationships are maintained.
· To keep up to date with the latest concepts / developments in the field of Cardiology and other associated fields by the attendance of meetings, seminars, training updates etc. (Continuous Professional Development)
· To maintain confidentiality at all times.
